The 23-year-old Grammy winner was performing in BBC Radio 1's iconic Live Lounge this morning, where she sang her version of When A Good Man Cries from CMAT's award-winning album, EURO-COUNTRY.
CMAT shared her excited reaction on Instagram, saying ‘she sang it better than me so now im toast’ before asking Rodrigo for pints.
The Meath woman was overjoyed to hear Rodrigo name her hometown of Dunboyne during the cover.
Another exciting recognition for CMAT who is fresh of a sold-out St Anne's Park gig over the past bank holiday weekend, as well as taking home an Ivor Novello Award for Best Album last month.
Fans of both artists have also shared their excitement on X, with one calling it their 'roman empire'.
It's not the first time the Drivers License hitmaker has covered an Irish artist, having sang Sinéad O'Connors Nothing Compares 2 U at her sold-out Fairview Park gig in 2022, and Fontaines D.C.'s I Love You at her Marlay Park gig last summer.
