Jeckyll and Hyde Have NOTHING On This Week’s Irish Weather

We're just going to tell you what you really want to know first - yes, Bank Holiday Monday is going to be a scorcher as promised.

However you won't know your arse from your elbow for the rest of the week - as it's set to veer wildly from sunshine to thunderstorms until next weekend.

Today

According to Met Eireann, 'Early morning fog clearing quickly on Monday, then warm and sunny with highs of up to 25 degrees in places. Coastal areas will be cooler due to sea-breezes. Risk of isolated thundery showers breaking out over more northern and western parts during the afternoon /evening.'

Tomorrow

Again, it starts warm with highs of 24/25 degrees, but descends into thundery downpours again later on, with the forecaster saying:

Heavy thundery showers breaking out later in the day across the western half of the country.'

Wednesday

You guessed it, same deal:

'Another warm day on Wednesday with temperatures reaching up to 25 or 26 degrees in the middle of the country. Thundery showers breaking out in the afternoon /evening, mainly across more western counties. Coastal areas continuing to stay cooler under the influence of sea-breezes.'

Thursday

Are you starting to see a pattern emerge here?

'The heatwave will continue through Thursday with highs up to 26 degrees again. The heat will again set off thundery showers which will lead to more summer downpours.'

Next Weekend

Yep, more of the same.

'Temperatures continuing to stay well into the 20's through Friday and Saturday, but they will drop back slightly on Sunday. Outbreaks of thunder with localized downpours will occur sporadically throughout the country.'
