Then, Irish language film An Cailín Ciúin made history by becoming the first Irish language film with a nomination for the Oscar for Best International Feature.
Finally, two Irish actors – Paul Mescal and Colin Farrell – were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Leading Actor for their performances in Aftersun and The Banshees of Inisherin, respectively.
The Oscars will take place on Sunday, March 12th, and it's safe to say, we have a pretty good chance of taking home an award or two.
